Some thoughts on poop, growth in Island County | Letter

If the county thinks the doubling of poop is because people are more educated about the need for pumping as well as more people selling their homes, then why the need to increase the septage capacity since the poop won’t exponentially grow to where it’s at today.

Editor,

I have an observation about poop.

If the county thinks the doubling of poop is because people are more educated about the need for pumping as well as more people selling their homes, then why the need to increase the septage capacity since the poop won’t exponentially grow to where it’s at today.

That’s assuming that the poop from today was building up due to both lack of education and perhaps lack of recession cash-flow to take care of their pumping needs.

What I’m actually driving at is that, I firmly believe, the county’s population planning numbers are way too low, and we’re seeing growth right in front of all our faces today.

I agree the sewage treatment plant does need to grow. But the reason it needs to grow is because we’re actually growing, not because everyone started pumping septic tanks all together.

And on another note, I’m seeing what I think is a baby boom going on in the South End. I wonder if there is a way to confirm that? I am seeing lots of babies, toddlers and little kids who seem just about ready to enter kindergarten, and they can’t all be “visitors.”

Anyway, poop for thought.
