Four North Whidbey Aquatic Club Aquajets won high point awards in their respective age brackets at the 33rd Annual Spring Thunderbird Invitational swim meet May 15 through May 17 in Anacortes.

Leading NWAC was 8-year-old Olivia Tungate, who won all eight of her individual events and set team records in the 25 backstroke (19.07), 100 individual medley (1:33.22) and the 100 freestyle (1:22.02).

Other Aquajet high-point winners included Marissa Morris in the girls 9 to 10-year-old division, Laura Rosen in the girls 13 and 14-year-old age group, and Josh Jepsen in the boys 13 and 14-year-old division.

In addition to Tungate and the high-point winners Morris, Rosen and Jepsen, NWAC had multiple individual event winners including Jerrin Concepcion, Karina Concepcion, Joel Erickson, Ciara Hu, John Hu, Joey Jepsen and Caley Powers.

Other team record setters included Joey Jepsen, Josh Jepsen, Ciara Hu, Rosen, John Hu, and the girls 13 and 14-year-old 200 freestyle and medley relay teams composed of Karina Concepcion, Ciara Hu, Therese Desquitado and Rosen.

Three Aquajets earned new Pacific Northwest Swimming Championships qualifying times.

This group was led by Desquitado, qualifying in the girls 13 to 14-year-old breaststroke and individual medley with times of 3:07.15 an 2:39.17, respectively.

Also qualifying for this meet were Joey Jepsen and Jarik Bainco.

Ten athletes finished the meet with 100 percent best times including, Bainco, Emiline Glade, Emily Huffer, John Hu, Price Hu, Josh Jepsen, Caley Powers, Dakota Powers, Lauren Vagt and Molly Vagt.

John Hu, competing in the boys 15-and-over division, was named NWAC Swimmer of the Meet. He swam 100 percent best times, set eight team records, won four events, earned second-place in the high-point competition and demonstrated exquisite pacing.

NWAC next competes May 29 through May 31 at the Apple Capital Invitational, where it will field a team of 40 swimmers.
