The following incidents were gathered from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Sunday, Dec. 8

At 9:14 a.m., a Dugualla Road resident reported that a man at the residence wanted to shoot a pitbull named “Brutus.” He went outside and shot a handgun, but the caller didn’t know if the dog was hit. She locked herself in the house after seeing him standing by his car with a Chihuahua.

At 12:22 p.m., an East Troxell Road resident said his mailbox was stolen.

At 12:36 p.m., a man reported finding litter on Blattman Road. The litterer left identifying information in the dumped trash.

At 3:45 p.m., a Greenbank woman reported seeing a boat “dead in the water” off Whidbey. The Coast Guard reported that is was a vessel laying cable.

At 3:57 p.m., a caller reported an injured hawk on Highway 20.

Monday, Dec. 9

At 8:39 a.m., an Oak Harbor Road resident asked for extra patrols due to “tweekers.”

At 10:07 a.m., a Coupeville woman reported being harassed on Facebook by a local man.

At 10:29 a.m., a Halsey Drive resident reported that her husband ripped the battery out of her car and was “acting like a nut.”

At 12:45 p.m., a caller reported that a burglar stole a gun from a W. Green Valley Road residence.

At 6:15 p.m., a Wildwood Drive resident reported that a prowler shined a flashlight into her home and knocked her on the door. The person seemed to leave after the dogs barked.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

At 1:13 a.m., a Carl Avenue resident reported that her dog chased a suspicious, khaki-pants-wearing person away from the mailbox.

At 7:29 a.m., a Strawberry Point resident reported that something, possibly the island’s lonely elk, tipped benches, firepits and other outdoor items over during the night.

At 8:52 a.m., there was a report that a mower and other equipment was stolen from North Whidbey Park and Recreation District.

At 10:59 a.m., a Keystone Avenue resident reported mail stolen.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

At 8:46 a.m., a Nunan Loop resident reported that his mom’s roommate and son are in a fight. One was armed with a crow bar.

At 10:19 a.m., the Coupeville School District reported that a man possibly tried to lure an elementary school girl at a bus stop. The man was in his 60s, gray hair, grown glasses and had a husby voice. He had a small white car that was very dirty.

At 1:24 p.m., a woman who suffered from mental health issues reported receiving death threats “in spirits.”

At 9:35 p.m., a woman reported finding a black jacket and bike laying on the ground.

Thursday, Dec. 12

At 2:39 p.m., a driver reported that a truck lost two barrels on Highway 20 near Libbey Road. About five gallons of fuel spilled on the road.

At 6:37 p.m., a Cranberry Drive resident reported that a package was stolen off her porch. A neighbor saw a champagne-colored four-door car.

At 8:59 p.m., a woman reported a possible burglary at a Parker Road home.

Friday, Dec. 13

At 7:35 a.m., a caller reported that seven cows were meandering on Patmore Road.

At 2:50 p.m., a caller reported that a man with a compound bow walked into the woods on Race Road.

At 3:59 p.m., a Hollydale Lane resident reported that her brother stole her radar detector and pawned it.

At 9:24 p.m., a Bay Front Lane resident reported the theft of her cat. She said she left the kitty in a large wooden chicken cage when she went to town, but it disappeared without using the litter box.

Saturday, Dec. 14

At 3:44 a.m., a Wildwood Drive resident reported hearing someone outside the home, pushing on a window. She said the dog disappeared after she let it outside. She armed herself.

At 1:41 p.m., a Colonial Way resident reported a suspicious man selling meat door-to-door.
