Stories of divine intervention will be explored at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at LIFETREE CAFE. The program, titled “Angels Among Us: Stories of Miraculous Encounters,” features a filmed interview with Kelley West, a woman who credits angels with saving her life during an explosive domestic incident. “I believe God sent an angel to protect me,” West said. “I think he realized I was in over my head in a situation where I had no way of protecting myself. I really believe God sent an angel to take care of me.” Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located 540 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor. Oak Harbor Lutheran Church and Grace Community Church will host an informational luncheon for Nick and Shannon Kraft at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church. The informational program is entitled “PARTNERSHIP IN MISSION” and will cover the Krafts’ recent missionary work in Peru. Lunch will include barbecue pork sandwiches, chicken, baked beans and salad. A free will offering will be taken to help raise money for the Kraft family to purchase a car.
Family Bible Church will hold its annual GLOBAL PARTNERS CONFERENCE April 15-17. The conference theme is “God’s spreading goodness.” Dr. Ron Frost will present “Missions: A Love Story” from 6:30-8:40 p.m. Friday. Children ages 5-11 may attend a mission movie night with complementary popcorn. The schedule of events for Saturday includes a men’s breakfast; a presentation by speaker Gary Elliott; a seminar for men with speaker Jim Mock; a women’s luncheon; a presentation by speaker Susan Weil; a free children’s program; and a presentation by Dr. Frost. A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LECTURE will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at First Church of Christ, Scientist, 721 SW 20th Court at Scenic Heights Street in Oak Harbor. Lois Carlson CSB, of Chicago, will present “The Healing Power of Unselfishness.” Carlson has had 40 years of experience in the healing ministry. Focused on the Bible and the teachings of Christ Jesus, her remarks will show how honoring unselfishness as an innate quality has a direct impact on the health of the body and a general sense of well-being. YOUTH ACTIVITIES at Coupeville United Methodist Church are at 12:30 p.m. Sundays. There are games, music, crafts and Christian education.
