Editor,
Many thanks to the people behind the Coupeville Festival Association, who made it possible to provide nearly $30,000 in support to various organizations around Central Whidbey.
Since the award to the Pacific Rim Institute — PRI — was listed as support for ongoing operations, I wish to expound on that just a bit.
In fact, the financial support from Coupeville Festival Association will make it possible for us to display historical information from our site dating back to glacial times on through Native American uses, sheep grazing by the Reeder and Kineth families, pheasant rearing by the State Game Farm and more.
We’ll go right on up to and including our restoration and educational programs.
Specifically, we will work with the Island County Historical Society and the Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve offices to coordinate what is shared and how it is displayed, so visitors to our lovely rock may find some congruence as they visit different places.
