Doubling its pleasure, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team blanked visiting Marysville-Pilchuck 7-0 Thursday, Sept. 24.
The Wildcat singles players have been solid all fall, but the doubles teams have struggled to help out in the team scoring. Not so Thursday as all three doubles teams won in straight sets over the Tomahawks (1-3, 1-7).
Jared Hunt and Matthew Hallahan teamed up to take first doubles 6-4, 6-0. In second doubles, Sidney Thomas and Jose Cabigting won 7-6(3), 6-3; and Matt Molitor and Aziya Sanders completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 win in third doubles.
In singles action, Jackson Wezeman (6-0, 6-0), Rodrigo Columbo (6-3, 6-2), Raymond Paraiso (6-2, 6-1) and Calib Byers (6-4, 6-4) all won.
Oak Harbor (3-2, 4-3) goes to division-leading Everett (4-0, 6-2) at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.
