Ferry fees increase by 25 percent today

Motorists will see a jump in fares on Washington State Ferries beginning today, May 1, when the peak season surcharge begins. The Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division will tack on an addition 25 percent surcharge applied generally to full fare vehicle/driver tickets.

Motorists departing from Keystone will pay $11.15 for a vehicle and driver while motorists departing from Clinton will pay $8.60 for a vehicle and driver.

Passenger fares on the Anacortes/San Juan routes increased 20 percent during peak seaon and vehicle/driver fares increased 35 percent.

Frequent ferry users won’t be hit by the surcharge if they purchase multi-ride car-and-driver coupons good for 10 round trips.
