The Oak Harbor High School soccer team put in a solid performance but lost 4-0 to Shorecrest Monday, Oct. 10, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

When the two teams met earlier this season, Shorecrest dominated the match but this time around Oak Harbor held its own.

The Scots (8-2-1) scored in the 28th minute and it appeared that the match may be decided by that lone goal, but an error by the Wildcats led to the second goal, according to coach Jeff Laiblin.

A pair of goals in the final minutes finished the scoring, but “the score does not represent how well we played,” Laiblin said.

The Wildcats host Lynnwood Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. and have a good shot of picking up their first win. Oak Harbor and the Royals have identical 0-8-2 records and tied the first time through the schedule.
