Four win in annual Gingerbread Challenge

Four entries were chosen in The Examiner's annual Gingerbread Challenge for creativity and design.

Four entries were chosen in The Examiner’s annual Gingerbread Challenge for creativity and design.

Luke Carison won the people’s choice entry for his Cozy Candy Cabin.

There were 19 entries submitted for the contest. Entries were on display at the Coupeville Library and voting was open to the public from Saturday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 20. Roughly 400 votes were cast .

Other winners include Allison Caroline and Facey Jungmann, who won for best adult entry for their Three Little Pigs display.

Katie Marti won for her entry, Katie’s House, in the youth category. Judges appreciated the detail put into the entry.

And Janet Wright got an honorable mention for her submission of the Historic Coupeville Wharf.

Winners received prizes donated by local businesses. Thanks to the Honey Bear, Jet Java and Les Schwab.

The annual Gingerbread Challenge is done in partnership with the Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association and Friends of the Coupeville Library.
