Charles, often called Charlie, was born in Oak Harbor, Wash., on April 20, 1947 and left us there on June 1, 2014 at age 67.
He was the first born of Ralph Warren Lindsay Jr. and the wife of Dorothy of Coupeville, Wash.
He was a retired marine mechanic having learned the trade from his father at Lindsay’s Marina located on Front Street in Coupeville.
He spent most of his working years at Skyline Marina in Anacortes, Wash.
Except for his military service, he lived his whole life in Coupeville, Anacortes, Sedro Woolley and Oak Harbor.
He served his country for seven years in the United States Marine Corp, combat engineer for 19 months outside Da Nang, including Tet in 1968.
He is survived by his three brothers, William Hugh Lindsay of Raleigh, N.C.; Ronald James Lindsay Sr. of Orange, Va; Ralph Anton Lindsay of San Diego; and two sons, Michael Lee Lindsay, currently at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Michael Alan Lindsay of Little Chute, Wis.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor.
