Frances Dorine Dana, 86, 63-year resident of Whidbey Island, died at Careage of Whidbey Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.

Mrs. Dana was born in Bantry, N.D., Sept. 4, 1918, to John Doherty and Iva Mae (Street) Doherty. She was raised in Bantry, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Whidbey in 1942. Dorine married George Dana Sept. 13, 1942.

Dorine is survived by her two sisters, Daisy Chaussee of Coupeville and Lois Swanson of Lynnwood; also, several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Private interment was held at Sunnyside Cemetery, where she was buried next to her husband, George Dana. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
