On Sept. 17, 2014, Marcus John T. Robinson passed away suddenly in Phoenix.
He is survived by his son, Marcus John T. Robinson Jr. (MJ); his parents, Jerene Robinson and Richard Robinson; his sister, Vonda Kenner; his paternal grandmother, Louise Grady; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
As a boy, Marcus seemed to be good at everything: baseball, wrestling, biking, skate boarding. He had a three-wheeler at age 10 that he practically flew on. He knew no fear. Life was for living, and he was in it to ride it.
At 19, Marcus made the move from Oak Harbor, Wash., to Phoenix and there found his calling: sales. And it was with this career choice he would meet some of his best friends and make a “family” in Arizona. He traveled all over the United States, selling. Marcus never met a stranger.
In 2004, he welcomed a son, who would become his life. He loved being a dad and spent many days in the pool with MJ.
Marcus was truly a gift to this world. To know Marcus was to know sunshine on a cloudy day. His love of life was solid and true and quite contagious. We are heartbroken at his passing and take comfort in the fact that we will see him again.
Two memorials will be held, one in Phoenix and one in Oak Harbor. The Phoenix memorial was held Sunday, Sept. 28, and the Oak Harbor memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Assembly of God.
