Harold Prentice Johnson, former resident of Oak Harbor, died July 19, 2005 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born March 26, 1927, the youngest son of Sander and Dessa E. Johnson. Harold made his home in Fountain, Colo., with his wife Rita to whom he was married 42 years. He served his country for 30 years, including a tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1972. Following his service in the military, Harold worked as a custodian for 18 years at the Freedom Trail Elementary School.
Harold was preceded in death by his son, who was 19 years old in 1984. In addition he was preceded in death by siblings Idella Thurman, Arthur Stewart, Hazel Grace, Sander Alfred and Bertha May.
He is survived by his wife Rita and her five children as well as his sister Dessa Caroline Johnson Belcher of Oklahoma City, Okla. Services for Harold were held in Fountain, Colorado on July 25, 2005.
