Susan Kantjas Moore

Susan Kantjas Moore of Belize passed away Feb. 28, 2016, at age 68.

Susan spent her aware early years growing up in Oak Harbor and Auburn, where she graduated with honors from Auburn High School. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1974 with a nursing degree and began her career at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. She later worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma as a surgical nurse.

She and her husband Dan enjoyed living at their home on Lake Tapps, and sailing their boat on Shilshole Bay in Seattle.

In 1991, they moved to San Diego, where she was a supervisor for Scripps Home Health visiting nurse service. She and Dan enjoyed day trips on their sailboat around San Diego bay.

They moved to Las Vegas in 1998, where she and Dan built a home and started a construction company while she worked for the Herte Potenza Surgery Center as a recovery nurse. She and Dan retired to Belize in 2014, where they were building a home at the time of her death.

She is greatly missed by her husband Dan, daughter Kim, sister Carolyn, brother Steve and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held for all who knew her beginning at noon June 4, at Bowman Bay on Whidbey Island.
