Longtime Oak Harbor and Anacortes resident, William Kidwell, Jr., died in Anacortes Friday, Aug. 9, 2002. He was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Clifty, Tenn., to William and Lena (Moore) Kidwell.
Mr. Kidwell honorably served his country for 30 years as an ordnance chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy. He served during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bea in 1999. His survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, William and Edna Kidwell, III; his daughter, Sandy Morrison; his granddaughter, Susan Morrison; and his grandson and his wife, Michael and Allison Morrison. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes.
