Hazel Weinert, long-time resident of Sierra Country Club, Coupeville, peacefully went to be with her Lord on March 25, 2004, in Cuidad Guzman, Jalisco, Mexico.
Hazel was born in 1914 in Eldorado, OK. In 1944, she moved to Washington with her husband, Reuel Neatherlin (deceased) where they resided at Everson and later Lake Stevens. After her husband’s death in 1963, she married Chuck Weinert and they soon moved to Coupeville, becoming charter members of Sierra Country Club in 1965.
Hazel was active in the Presbyterian Church in Oak Harbor, worked in the kitchen for four years for the Coupeville School District and was membership chairman for Sierra Country Club. She moved to Mexico with her son, Robert Neatherlin, in 1999. Hazel was loved by her family and friends both in Washington and in Mexico and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son Robert Neatherlin and his wife, Elia of Mexico, her grandchildren, Robin (Mark) Kern, Terri (Drew) Hall, Tom (Sherri) Neatherlin, Rick (Jamie) Neatherlin, Lance Neatherlin, Rob Neatherlin and Jeff (Nicole) Neatherlin, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
