Opal M. Greene, 65, of Burlington, formerly of Oak Harbor, Harrisburg and Salinas, died July 5, 2005, at her daughter’s home located in the Harrisburg Central Community.
Ms. Greene was born in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Ms. Greene held an associate’s degree in Office Administration, an active Realtor’s license with Valleys West Realty in Concrete; owned and operated Reeves’ Grocery located in the Harrisburg Central Community; and was an Eligibility worker for the Welfare department in Salinas, where she was known as Opal Maxine Jackson. Ms. Greene was a member of The National Association of Realtors, enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Theodore Ray Jackson of Jonesboro, Ak.; two daughters, Bridgette Jackson-Arias of Salinas, Calif., and Roxanne Jackson-Everhart of Harrisburg, Ark.; a parent, Jacquelyn Greene, and a sister, Claudette Greene of Oak Harbor; three sisters of North Carolina, Emma Crusenberry, Linda Brewer, and Dale Greene; one sister of Virginia, Maggie Wells; one brother, W.C. Greene of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Lesley Lynn Arias, Nicholas Andrew Arias, and Colton Ronnie Everhart; and one great-grandchild, Rene Ruiz Garcia, Jr.
Preceded in death were both Ms. Greene’s biological parents, Claud Greene and Maurice Greene of North Carolina; a parent, Richard Greene of Oak Harbor; three sisters, Daphine Greene of North Carolina, Ethel Wilson of Texas, and Virginia Wilms of Washington; and three brothers, Walter Greene and Joseph Greene of North Carolina and John Green of Alaska.
