Bob Fasolo, 53, longtime Coupeville resident, beloved husband and father, entered into rest in his Coupeville home on Aug. 18, 2008. He was born in San Francisco in 1954 to Carlo and Wilma Fasolo.
Bob was raised in the San Francisco/San Mateo area, attending schools there and graduating from San Mateo High School.
Among other things, Bob was an avid surfer and fly fisherman. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips with his good friend Craig Erjevac and son Robert. He also devoted much of his time mentoring both his sons Robert and Edward in the trade he loved. Bob was loving and attentive to his children and wife and loved sharing all outdoor activities with them. They created many memories involving camping, fishing, biking and surfing.
In 1991, Bob met the love of his life, Hope. They were married in August 2003. Hope came with a family of her own, so Bob inherited two more daughters whom he loved and treated as his own.
Bob was probably best known in the Coupeville area for his contracting work. He worked for 18 years at his business, State of the Art Builders, and was known for his quality workmanship.
Bob is survived by his wife, Hope, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Amy Fasolo of Coupeville, son Edward Fasolo of Coupeville, daughters Hannah Rodrigues of Oak Harbor and Samantha Rodrigues of Coupeville, Shasta Fasolo and Rhea Fasolo of Eastern Washington.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Fasolo in 1959, his father Carlo Fasolo in 1998, and wife Deborah Fasolo in 1989.
A visitation for Bob was held Friday afternoon and evening at Burley Funeral Chapel and a casual gathering and service for him was held Saturday morning, Aug. 23, at Fort Ebey State Park overlooking his favorite surf spot on the island. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
