Christopher Michael Cooper (Coop), age 23, of Oak Harbor, passed away on Nov. 29, 2012. He was born May 20, 1989 to Terry Cooper and Christine (Curless) Deubel in Kirland. He spent his first years on South Whidbey Island. He received a diploma from Oak Harbor High School in 2007. He was on the high school travel league bowling team. His proud moments included several 300 games. His team went to the state championships all four years. After high school Chris became involved in building and restoring Hondas. He loved to work at his landscaping job and enjoyed many other outdoor activities such as: fishing, hiking, cliff jumping, jet skiing, kayaking, snowboarding and barbecuing his famous ribs with his friends. Chris loved all variations of music. He was frequently teased for breaking out in a Taylor Swift song or “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” He was a very loyal and dependable son, brother, friend, uncle, nephew and grandson. His contagious smile and goofy laugh will always be remembered. Chris is survived by his parents, his sisters Annie Bailey and Jessica Williams, his grandparents Trudy Smith, Michael Curless, James Cooper and Jeanette Eddy, uncles Michael (Tina) Curless, Eric (Andrea) Curless, Danny (Angie) Cooper, aunt Kathleen Curless, four nephews, Jairden and Jackson Bailey and Kyle and Sidney Cooper and many extended family members. A Graveside committal was held on Friday, Dec. 7 at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. A memorial service followed at the Football Bat Bar and Sports Grill in Oak Harbor.
