Connie Junior Pearsall II was killed June 16, 2002, in Oak Harbor. He was born Feb. 7, 1976, in Dudley, N.C., to Connie Junior Pearsall and Dolores Hill Pearsall Royall. He was raised in Dudley and finished high school in Warsaw, N.C. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for eight years. At the time of his death, he was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.
He was preceded in death by his father, Connie Junior Pearsall. He is survived by his mother, Dolores Hill Pearsall Royall, and his step-father, Wesley N. Royall, both of Warsaw, N.C.; two sisters, Regina Pearsall Bland and Christina Pearsall; a step-sister, Opel L. Royall; and brothers-in-law Nelson Bland and Chancey Carr, Jr. Other survivors include two grandmothers and grandfathers, nine aunts, nine uncles, three great-aunts and two great-great aunts. A host of many more close cousins and friends also survive.
He met his wife, Mary Ann King Griffith, while serving in the Navy at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. His family met Mary Ann for a brief time June 30, 2001, in North Carolina.
Mary Ann and Connie were married March 4, 2002. Mary Ann has four girls, Jasmine A. Griffith, Mayleena C. Griffith, Nichole D. Griffith and Betty C. Griffith.
He was a loving son, brother, nephew, loving husband, cousin and friend. God never made a better person to love everyone and do what he could to help everyone from the depth of his heart.
Connie is buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor; arrangements were by Burley Funeral Chapel.
