Lois Carlson

Lois Carlson, age 77, 14-year resident of Oak Harbor, died at Whidbey General Hospital Saturday, July 31, 2004, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Carlson was born in Fayetteville, Ark., March 26, 1927, to William Bohannon and Mary (Henderson) Bohannon. She was raised in Fayetteville. July 8, 1944, she married Leslie R. Carlson in Fayetteville. They moved to Oak Harbor in 1990, having lived in various locations around the world during her husband Les’ tour of duty with the U.S. Army. Just prior to moving to Oak Harbor, they resided in Oroville, Calif., for 15 years.

Lois was an Episcopalian. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting and reading.

Lois is survived by her husband Leslie R. “Les” Carlson, at home; one son, Allan C. Carlson and wife Debra of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Susan Willet and her husband George of Anacortes; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Smith and her husband Thurman of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, Wayne Bohannon of Tulsa, Okla., and Russell Bohannon of Fayetteville, Ark.; also, several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by one son, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Leslie Ronald Carlson, US Army, who died in a helicopter accident in Korea in December 1986. She was also preceded by several other siblings.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel, Dr. Benjamin Norris officiating. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
