February 6, 1924 – November 26, 2012

Ruth Witherbee, a past resident of Coupeville and Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2012.

Ruth was born, raised and married in Seattle and then retired to Whidbey Island.

She was preceded in death by both her parents Frank and Selma Rivers and her husband Cal Witherbee (1998).

A long time member of Coupeville United Methodist and later First United Methodist Church in Oak Harbor, Ruth was very active in the United Methodist Women and a committed volunteer at the Whidbey General Hospital.

Ruth and Cal operated David’s Diner in Coupeville for many years.

Ruth will be missed by her children, Robert Witherbee, David (Nadja) Witherbee, Karen (Gary) Hinton and her grandsons Thom (Stacey) Hinton and Ty (Erin) Hinton.

A Celebration of Life is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Coupeville United Methodist Church.
