Graveside funeral services for Lois Marie Rezabek were held June 4 at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Pastor Grafton Robinson of the Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church officiated.
Lois M. Rezabek, 71, died June 1, 2002 at Whidbey Island Manor, Oak Harbor. She was born July 15, 1930, in Waveland, Ark., to William and Minnie (Howard) Byrd. She was married to Richard J. Rezabek on July 31, 1950 in Hernando, Miss.
Lois was a Navy wife for 31 years, traveling the country. Her support of Dick’s career took them to Tennessee, Hawaii, Florida, and several duty stations in California as well as two duty assignments to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. In 1972, they came to Whidbey to stay.
Lois loved sewing, animals and collecting Beanie Babies. Animals were very important to her. Caring for and adopting stray animals was a common occurrence at the Rezabek home.
Lois is survived by her husband Dick at the family home, Oak Harbor, by one brother, Ray Frame and his wife Irene of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and one sister, Betty McGuire and her husband Marvin of Underwood, Ind. Her parents and one brother, Rex Frame, preceded her in death.
