Ida M. Dayton was born Nov. 19, 1949 and passed away Oct. 8, 2002. Ida was born to Jack and Bonnie Gardner in Bellingham. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1967 and later attended Bellingham Vocational Tech.
During her early adulthood she served on the Mount Baker Ski Patrol and was awarded the Dr. Trott award of excellence. During her life Ida loved the water and spent her free time fishing, beachcombing, and just taking walks on the beach. One of her fondest activities was searching for agates in Lincoln City, Ore.
Ida lived in Coupeville, where she lived with her husband Edward Dayton. Ida and Edward were married Feb. 14, 1993. In addition to her husband, Ida is survived by her children, step-children, and grandchildren: daughter Brenna Douglas and husband Russel, her son Bradley Haslam and Tammie, both of Whidbey Island; step-sons Eddie of Coupeville, and William of Medford, Ore.; step-daughter Shantel of Medford, Ore.; and her two grandchildren, Jack and Hannah Douglas of Whidbey Island.
Her family have many cherished memories that they invite you to share with them Saturday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m. at Living Hope Foursquare Church in Coupeville.
