Melvin Tingley, who retired from the Navy at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station,, passed away Dec. 4, 2006 in Alvarado Hospital, San Diego, Calif.

He is survived by his wife Josephine Tingley of Lemon Grove, Calif.; daughters Carrie George of San Diego, Margett Rousell of Sedro-Woolley and Cindy Tingley; sons Joe and Lloyd Tingley of Oak Harbor; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at California Burial Chapel, 2200 Highland Ave., National City, CA 91950.

He will be greatly missed by all.
