Alice Joyce Stage, 83, formally of Oak Harbor, died May 11, 2009, at Avalon Healthcare in Pasco, Wash.
Joyce was born in Lincoln, Neb., on Oct. 6, 1925, to Orval Dewey Peters and Alice Martha Hearson. She married Rolland Marcus Stage on Sept. 27, 1945, in Walden, Colo. She had two children, Daniel B. Stage of Sparks, Nev., and Linda J. Dunn of Desert Aire, Wash. The family moved to Oak Harbor in 1959. Joyce worked for the telephone company, then owned and operated the “Mode O Day” with partner Jo VanKal. She later left the store to sell real estate.
She leaves behind three grandchildren, Thomas R. Alsop and wife Heidi of Cornelius, Ore., Major A. Scot Alsop, USAF and wife Destiny of Tampa, Fla., and Danielle J. Stage of Reno, Nev; four great-grandsons, TJ, Stephen, Conner and Brandon Alsop. She was preceded in death by her husband Rolland and her only sister Virginia Lewis.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
