Wesley L. Maddox
Former Freeland resident Wesley L. Maddox died at Northwest Hospital on Sept. 6, 2002. Wes was born in Seattle on March 10, 1924, to Wesley P. and Ruth Maddox. He was a lifelong resident of Washington state, dividing his time between the Seattle area and Whidbey Island.
During World War II he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth (1981), his first wife Thelma (1992) and his father Wesley (2000).
Wes is survived by his wife Leona of Shoreline; children: Cheryl (Tim) Krueger of Bremerton, Chuck (Vikki) Maddox of Freeland, Mark Maddox of Seattle, Doug Park of Pullman and Leslie Park of New York City; granddaughter Gwen (Nick) Kaschmitter of Lafayette, La.; and great-grandson Jeramiah Kaschmitter.
A memorial service will be held at the Edmonds Church of God Saturday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorials may go to Make A Wish.
