Yee Nam Ng

With a heavy heart, we mourn Yee Nam Ng. He passed at 10:10 p.m. on July 15, 2012, resting peacefully in his own home with his entire immediate family surrounding him. He was born July 2, 1935 in Shicheng Village, West Sea Taishan City, Guangdong Province, China.

Ng was born to a peasant family, with many siblings. He was given the opportunity to study as a child by his own efforts. He graduated from the West Sea Ren Yuan grade school, Taishan City, in 1959 and graduated Taishan Sports School in 1962. From 1962 to 1964 he worked at the food processing plants in the West Sea to do their accounting. During 1964-1966 in the West Financial Accounting Board, he obtained the position as accounting chief. From 1966 to 1990 he found a new passion as a butcher, where he got to know many people and make new friends, he became very well known; tirelessly working to support his family of seven.

In March 1990, his brother-in-law (Chen Zhou, who owns Hong Kong Gardens Restaurant in Anacortes) sponsored his immigration, which fortunately moved them to the United States. He brought his wife and two youngest children to the United States to carry out the second journey of his life. The three elder children immigrated in 1995. They worked in the restaurants as a family and learned how to operate this industry from their good friend who owned Fortune Mandarin Restaurant in Mount Vernon.

The year 1999 was pivotal, where they took their chances by opening their own restaurant in Oak Harbor. The businesses continued to grow; now two restaurants are in successful operation.

Yee Nam Ng is survived by many relatives, four brothers and one sister, their spouses and many children-that bless his family with the abundance of family and love.
