Jeanne Waller passed away on October 10, 2012, in Everett at the age of 79. She was born on May 6, 1933, in Flushing, New York, to Joseph and Sally Turco. As a young girl, Jeanne moved to Everett with her mother. She was a member of the class of 1949 of Everett High School.
Jeanne was married to Merton A. “Mert” Waller. Mert received his teaching certificate and served as a teacher and coach in Dryden, Coupeville and, finally in 1956, Oak Harbor, which became their home. Jeanne was a stay-at-home mom, raising her family. She was a dedicated wife and mother. Over the years, Jeanne became a skilled tournament bridge player and shared her talent with others as a bridge instructor. With her health beginning to fail, Jeanne decided to return to Everett, where she had grown up, and live with her youngest daughter Kay.
Jeanne is survived by four children and their spouses: Michael and Susan Waller and Jim and Sandee Waller of Oak Harbor; Wendy Muzzall of Cle Elum; and Kay and Richard Maltby of Everett. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jeff, Kate, Brett, Bryce and Brooks Waller; John and David Muzzall; and Richard Maltby; one great grandchild, Haven Maltby; and two half brothers, Charles and Bruce Wixson. Her husband Mert and son-in-law Mike Muzzall preceded her in death.
Jeanne will be cremated and her remains buried with Mert’s at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor, at a later date.
A reception for Jeanne will be held Sunday, Nov. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Wallin Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Oak Harbor Education Foundation, P.O.
