Del Juhl, 89, of Oak Harbor, died Aug. 19, 2009, at his home with his family by his side. Del was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Napavine, Wash., to George and Ethel (McIntyre) Juhl. A child of the Depression, Del had to quit Auburn High School to start working. He was hired as a farm hand.
On May 4, 1940, Del married the love of his life, Dorothy Fraser, at Five Mile Lake in Federal Way. They were happily married for over 69 years.
Del retired as a real estate broker. He and Dorothy have lived in Oak Harbor for the past nine years.
Del is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of Oak Harbor; sons Terrance of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Dr. Robert Juhl and wife Jacqueline of Anacortes; grandchildren Derek Juhl, Brandon Juhl, Hans Juhl, Nicholas Juhl, Courtney Juhl, Allison Juhl, Cecily Hazelrigg-Hernandez and Stephany Hazelrigg; great-grandchildren Anya and Yaretzi; brother George Juhl of Lacey; and sister Hazel Mills of Orting.
