Bonnie A. Orwall, a 35-year resident of Oak Harbor, passed away at Whidbey General Hospital on Dec. 14, 2013.
She was 88 years old and surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing.
Mrs. Orwall was born in Quincy, Ill. on Sept. 22, 1925.
She married Walter B. Orwall in 1946, and the couple moved from Chicago to Miami, where they were involved in helping launch the Burger King restaurant chain.
The family moved from Miami to Omaha, Neb. and Pueblo, Col. before arriving in Oak Harbor in 1978.
With their longtime business partners and dear friends, Bob and Sharon Chamberlain, they opened the Burger King restaurant in Oak Harbor late that year.
Bonnie was a supportive mother and kind soul who deeply loved her community.
She will be missed and remembered by her family, friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Orwall was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Orwall, who passed in 1982.
She is survived by her three children: Brad Orwall, of Seattle; Bruce Orwall, of London, U.K.; and Tina Orwall, of Seattle.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21 at Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor.
