Raymond Leroy “Spider’ Wadlington, 61, passed away at his home in Oak Harbor on April 26, 2012, after recently discovering that he had cancer. He was born on Aug. 10, 1950, in Berrien Springs, Mich., to Raymond M. and Geraldine A. (DePriest) Wadlington. In 1970 Ray enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a manager of various restaurants and served as a bar tender in Oak Harbor and in other states.
In 1980, Ray married Linda Jo Brown of Oak Harbor. They were together for 32 years. For the last 20 years, Ray has worked as a long haul trucker. He enjoyed golfing every weekend with his friends. Ray liked to entertain friends and family. He was always the life of the party.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy Dale and his wife Linda Jo. He is survived by his children Holly Moch and her husband Tyler of Oak Harbor and Jimmy Wadlington, also of Oak Harbor, his sister, Patsy Wadlington of Paulsbo, and grandchildren Abby and Kayla. Ray is also survived by his close friend, Debbie Barco, who cared for Ray during his illness.
