George “Keith” Austin, 88, of Punta Gorda passed away May 19, 2012. He was the son of Robert Bourne and Bertha Lillian (Keith) Austin, born January 21, 1924 in Coupeville, WA. Keith served in the Air Force during WWII. He was an avid golfer and spent his career as a golf course superintendent. He came to this area 28 years ago from Tampa, and was a member of the Rotary and the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Port Charlotte.
Keith will be greatly missed by his wife of 28 years, Faye Mobley Austin; sons, George Keith (Carol) Austin, Jr. of Lakeland, FL, and Grady (Shari) Austin of Apopka, FL; step-daughter, Huellen (Morgan) Randolph of Punta Gorda; sisters, Eva Burns of Everett, WA, and Barbara South of Oak Harbor, WA; grandchildren, Neal Austin of Tampa, FL, Kevin Austin of Lakeland, FL, Julianna Austin of Apopka, FL, and Kristi Randolph of Punta Gorda. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Masters Austin.
The memorial service in celebration of Keith’s life will be at 2:00 pm Friday, May 25, 2012 at Seventh Day Adventist of Port Charlotte.
