Ellen Stephens Maupin, 86, of Greenbank, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002.

Ellen was born October 12, 1916 in Helper, Utah, to Pearl and Lon Stephens. She was married to Sam A. Maupin for 55 years. He died in 1989.

She was a real people person and enjoyed working for the Washington State Ferries as a galley worker and assisting serving meals at the Meals on Wheels in Greenbank.

Mrs. Maupin is survived by son, Terril of Anacortes; son and daughter-in-law, Chip and Kitty of Riverton, Wyo.; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Eva of Bremerton; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Greenbank Senior Center on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 from 2 to 6 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes.
