James E. Tilton, 59, died Dec. 8, 2007, at Providence Everett Hospital after suffering a stroke on Dec. 4.

He is survived by son Jason Tilton of Oklahoma; daughter Laura Tilton Noel of California; grandsons Trevor and Blaise Tilton; mother Florence Cody; brother Jeff Cody of Minnesota; and sisters Elizabeth and Michelle of California.

Jim was born Oct. 9, 1948, in Minnesota and moved several times with his military family. He served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1990 as a Chief Petty Officer.

He made his home in Oak Harbor and had several businesses through the years, including radio station KWDB.

He was baptized into and remained a faithful member of the Living Hope Foursquare Church in Oak Harbor.

According to his wishes, he was cremated by American Memorial Funeral Home in Everett. Memorial services are being delayed to allow for his mother’s attendance.
