Susan Erickson of Coupeville died at her home Nov. 6, 2008. She was born in Seattle July 25, 1944 to Duane and Dorothy Eager and raised in the Kirkland area where she graduated from high school.

In 1964 Susan married James Erickson and they were blessed with a daughter, Leanne. Susan was a poet, artist and ran her own business caring for children out of her Kirkland home for 22 years. She taught children and adults how to hold on to love, happiness, appreciation and harmony no matter how tough times got through example. Susan never let the colors fade, the subtle go unnoticed, or the beauty of life be taken for granted.

In 1994 Susan moved to Granite Falls to be closer to her daughter. She lived there for 4 years before moving to Whidbey Island, again to be closer to her daughter and her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her daughter Leanne of Freeland and her grandchildren Tiea, Kelsey and Mariah, also of Freeland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. At her request there will be no formal services held at this time. The family is planning a private gathering at a future date. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
