I am an educator employed by the Oak Harbor School District. Educators are facing unparalleled cuts in our salary, benefits and retirement. I am so grateful though for working with my colleagues, students, HCE families, and district that I wanted to write a letter to celebrate this season of thankfulness.

As our community, state and nation are faced with these difficult and heartbreaking financial concerns, it is so important to remember that we live in a wonderful town, beautiful state and a great nation.

Please remember to support your local schools, police and fire departments as we enter into another phase of financial cuts by our state Legislature.

Thank you, Oak Harbor, for being a safe place to raise our children and a wonderful place to live!
