Never been fishing before? Kevin Lungren tells how to catch a salmon from the beach at the South Whidbey Tilth Farmers’ Market Sunday, July 14.
He’ll show what is needed and what to do; and he’ll be available to answer crabbing questions too. Lungren is vice president of the Fishin’ Club, which meets 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Bar MC Ranch.
The Tilth market is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays at 2812 Thompson Road, off SR 525.
This Sunday, jazzman Danny Ward performs live on his saxophone. Meet local farmers who are selling fresh berries and vegetables. Enjoy cold organic lemonade or hot coffee and brunch for take out or to eat on site — Edward Hueneke is cooking in the kitchen.
Local artisans vend handmade soap, wooden game boards, solar lights, fibers arts and other intriguing works.
More than just a market, visitors may tour the shaded woodland trail, community gardens, children’s playhouse, sandbox and chickens.
Seniors and WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) coupons are accepted by several vendors and SNAP cards are welcome.
The market is a member of the Washington State Farmers’ Markets Association. Contact the market manager for more information at market@southwhidbeytilth.org or call 360-632-4451.
