This is in response to Lew Brantley’s letter (News-Times, Jan. 9) regarding the hospital staff being too supportive.

So Lew, are you saying that if a close friend of yours, your spouse or child committed a crime, you would abandon them? I guess I can only say I am glad I am not a friend of yours.
