Parents of preschool children can take advantage of special “Child Find” screenings, sponsored by the Oak Harbor School District, to determine eligibility for early intervention programs. The final screening this school year will be held March 15.

These free screenings are designed to identify children with developmental delay so they can be included in preschool education programs. The screening is offered at no cost and provided for children from 3 years of age to entering kindergarten. While their child is being screened, parents will be asked to provide general information on their child’s development. Their child’s baby book or calendar might be helpful to parents in answering some of the questions. Results will be provided to the parents after their child’s screening has been completed.

To schedule a screening appointment, parents should call the district’s Special Programs Office at 279-5047.
