If you haven’t turned your ballot in already, today is the last day to vote in the primary election.
North and Central Whidbey Island voters have two elections open in the primary.
Three candidates are running for Oak Harbor mayor — current Oak Harbor councilmen Jim Campbell and Bob Severns, and longtime resident Martha Yount.
In the race for Whidbey General Hospital commissioner, Position 2, two candidates are hoping to unseat incumbent Georgia Gardner — longstanding hospital critic Robert Born and island newcomer Rita Drum.
Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, Aug. 4, or dropped at an official ballot drop location.
Locations of ballot boxes are as follows:
Island County Elections Office: 400 N. Main St., Coupeville
Island County Auditor’s Office, 1 N.E. Seventh St., Room 105, Coupeville
Oak Harbor City Hall, 865 S.E. Barrington Dr., Oak Harbor
Trinity Lutheran Church, 18341 SR 525, Freeland
Ken’s Korner Shopping, 4141 SR 525, Clinton
Boxes will close promptly at 8 p.m. on election night.
