To more fully understand global warming one must get beyond relying on the thoughts of anothers and actually think and reason for oneself. I believe that the first step is to question whatever the issue is; to realize that politicians on both sides of the issue are by their profession adept prevaricators; that in our present permissive society the language of half-truths has become the accepted national tongue; and that environmentalists and exploiters alike set agenda above each and all others.
Contrary to what many think, the debate over global warming is not settled. I believe the crux of this debate is not whether the earth is experiencing a warming trend, rather is the rise in temperature human caused? Naysayers and alarmists are telling us that surface temperatures are rising but not telling us these readings are land and ice (Antarctica) based. The oceanic and upper atmospheric temperatures have not risen, according to orbiting satellite data. We are told the ice is melting and breaking off Antarctica but not told the data comes only from the Larsen “B” ice shelf and that five other Antarctic ice sheets have been increasing; that the glaciers of North American are receding but not told the snow on top of these glaciers is getting deeper; that the glaciers along the Greenland coast are receding and we are now discovering evidence of the Norsemen civilization under this melting ice. . .
Through photosynthesis, plant life converts carbon dioxide to oxygen for use by guess who?. If we’re crying for oxygen, then the flora world is crying for carbon dioxide …
Global warming; a terrible economy; the sky is falling; let’s keep it scary; let’s keep it partially true and by all means let’s keep it coming.
