I saw your March 22 article on the homeless in Oak Harbor. I feel for the truly homeless as well, but one Sunday I had some errands to run, and I saw five different people at different times standing on the corner by Safeway. Okay, but three of them were smoking cigarettes! One I saw take out a new pack of cigarettes and take one out and light it.
I’m sorry, but if you can afford cigarettes you don’t need any help. I quit 10 years ago because it was too expensive. Make a choice, eat or smoke!
