My curiosity has been tweaked with the addition of new terminology to the pages of this newspaper. That new terminology being “sales tax leakage.” Curiosity begets questions:
How do you define “sales tax leakage”?
How do you accurately measure “sales tax leakage”?
Is “sales tax leakage” based on factual documented information or on biased perceptions of public officialdom?
Is “sales tax leakage” reciprocal when visitors and out of area weekenders spend their money in Island County?
The creative use of terminology lately has been used to obscure the landscape of reality, hopefully “sales tax leakage” is not another creative attempt of obscurity.
