DuWayne Morgenstern (Letters, Aug. 20) is a griper, however the man has a point.
I understand how filming a commercial is a great boon to the merchants and local businesses but at what cost to the individuals who use the area involved on a daily basis, and particularly now when numerous people are using the area to go salmon fishing, especially in a humpy year.
I understand that a great “gift†was given to the National Historic Reserve. I’ve always been under the impression that a gift was freely given with no thought of reward, otherwise such a gift is and should be considered a bribe. Woe to you, elected or appointed officials, who have prompted such goings on at the expense of the majority of the populace.
For comparison, imagine the ten second delay cited by the engineering department at the Highway 20 and Swantown intersection to the delays caused by this fiasco.
