“A special adult choir is been formed to sing in the fifth annual presentation of Christmas with the Classics – the Christmas concert that has rapidly become an important part of Oak Harbor’s holiday season.The concert is set for Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. in First Reformed Church. Lynn Vehorn, choir director at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Oak Harbor, will direct the special choir. Singers have been rehearsing Saturday mornings since mid November. Oak Harbor mezzo-soprano Ute Freund and bass Glenn Guhr of Seattle will perform arias from the Messiah. Other musical selections will be by Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and other composers. The Northwest String quartet will be featured, along with flutist Kimberley Breilein and pianist Sharon Ringer. Proceeds will benefit Partnership With Youth. Tickets will be available in advance at Daily Grind for a suggested donation of $10 for ages 13 and older. Families are encouraged to bring their children 12 and under free of charge to share the inspiration of great music composed especially for this magical season. “
