Set up in a double wide home, Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet and chat with chldren, invited to enjoy hot cider and see the little Christmas village.

Families will also be able to enter the barns on the grounds to visit and pet the animals, including goats, a bull calf, llamas and ponies, brought by Whidbey Island 4-H clubs and private owners.

Christmas Village is designed to set the mood for Christmas, said Lee Brainard, Soroptomist member.

Last year about 3,000 people visited the village, and Soroptomists took about 1500 photos of children with Santa. Photos with Santa will be available again this year for $1, or parents may bring their own cameras. All other activities are free.

“Some of the people that come have been coming for 20 years. Some of the young adults helping now used to visit as children,” Brainard said.
