The Coupeville High School volleyball team finished second in its bracket and 14th overall at the 16-team South Whidbey Invitational Tournament Saturday, Sept. 12.
The Wolves gathered wins by sweeping Orcas Island and splitting with Port Angeles.
In addition, Coupeville “battled well” against others in its pool, according to coach Breanne Smedley.
“The girls showed some huge improvements at this tournament,” Smedley said. “They were playing more cohesively, communicating better and stepping into their individual roles on the team. Our three freshman floaters also came up to play with us and did a great job of stepping in when we needed them.”
Coupeville (2-0) plays at Mount Vernon Christian (1-0) at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.
