Community: Babe Ruth supplies stolen

Some slime-ball thief took it upon himself to steal $400 worth of materials Captain Young had purchased and donated to construct a roof for each of the two dugouts.

With a sense of community the North Whidbey Parks and Recreation Board dedicated funds to rebuild the ball fields at Clover Valley Park. Those funds, supplemented by donations and volunteer labor, sparked a community effort to provide a better place for local Babe Ruth baseball teams to play and practice. The results have been noteworthy. Led by retired Navy Captain Bill Young, “our village” has constructed a place for local boys aged 13 to 15-years-old to learn and play baseball.

Enter the “village creep.”

Some slime-ball thief took it upon himself to steal $400 worth of materials Captain Young had purchased and donated to construct a roof for each of the two dugouts. There could be no mistaking the purpose of the material as they lay next to the ball-field under construction. Said thief, scum that he is, knew full well he was stealing from a youth program. Further, it could not have been a spur of the moment crime as direct access to the fields is secured by a locked gate. The creep either had a key to the gate or gained access through the neighboring off leash dog park.

Beware fellow villagers. If you know of a person that suddenly has new materials to build a roofed shed, you may want to warn his family, wife, parents, grandparents and especially any unfortunate kids he may have. Warn them to lock up their valuables, as they have the lowest of all low-life thieves living with them.
