In the article, “Coupeville supports Watada,” (News-Times, Jan. 17) I love the way Paul Boring, staff writer, lumps everyone who lives in Coupeville into his article as if we all agreed with him. Yes, I too live in Coupeville but I find it very interesting that Watada joined the army after the war in Iraq began.
It turns out that Watada’s Web site is in fact registered to NION (Not In Our Name) and is run by the Cindy Sheehan “camper,” Jeff Paterson. Watada’s press release first appeared before Watada reported to his superiors his refusal to deploy. Does this sound like a pre-planned war demonstration to you?
Watada is a man who broke his promise to his country, plain and simple.
